September and Virgo share the traditional birthstone of sapphire and the modern birthstone Lapis Lazuli.
Lapis Lazuli is an ancient rock, an aggregate of the minerals lazurite, calcite and pyrite.
It has been prized by human civilisations for over 6000 years.
Cleopatra famously used ground Lapis for her eye make-up and Renaissance artists made a costly pigment from it called 'ultramarine'- think of the blue headband worn by Vermeer's 'girl with a pearl earring'.

Full description
Deep blue Lapis Lazuli and light grey jade 6mm beads are separated with 5mm sparkling Austrian crystals in a colour called 'sapphire'.
The necklace graduates to smaller blue-grey beads of sodalite.
Glints of bright gold vermeil add emphasis.
Finished with a gold vermeil trigger clasp.
Gold vermeil is sterling silver that has been plated with gold, and the clasp is stamped '925'.
The necklace measures approximately 18 inches (46cm).
Price includes delivery within the UK.
Your necklace will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a pretty organza gift bag.
