Jessie is an Izannah Walker inspired doll made from my own original sculpture. She is approximately 27cm tall.

This doll was created during the 2020 lockdown and comes with a hand painted box. Her features have been painted with artist grade acrylic paints, and sealed with several coats of matt varnish. Jessie has been antiqued to give her a real "old doll" look

Jessie has a full set of cotton underwear, drawers, chemise and half slip. Each piece is embellished with vintage lace & hand embroidery. She has painted blue stockings and black lace up boots. Her dress is made from cotton fabric, and her cape and wrist warmers are hand knitted in merino yarn. Her clothes are all removable, and fasten with mother of pearl buttons. Her blue sun bonnet is trimmed with Liberty floral fabric. She has a hand printed cotton kitty to keep her company on her travels.

Her body is made from calico, and her head and hands are cast from Flumo, an air dry clay medium. Please keep Jessie in a dry environment.

She has been entirely designed, sculpted and handmade by me in my studio, my dolls are always painted and costumed uniquely.

Izannah Walker was an American doll maker in the 19th Century, her cloth dolls are rare and highly cherished.

Jessie's petticoat is embroidered with the following words:" Have you ever watched the day passing by your door? Powerless to change it's course, your feet fixed to the floor. Have you ever had it blue? Covid19 April 2020 pandemic lockdown"
