Living in this house was the inspiration that allowed me to feel safe, secure and loved.
I won’t lie though, the housing estate was deemed a shithole at the time and I half agree with this comment. I’m still very proud of growing up here and never bringing shame on my family by having the police turn up.

Full description
A pencil drawing on A4 sized paper of a typical house in the West Midlands in the 80’s. This was a four bedroom property and was a council house.
It was home and when you are younger you don’t really grasp the reality that everyone is broke, everyone is struggling, Everyone needs help to live, everyone hates the situation, everyone is in the same boat.
All I thought about was my BMX and Sam Fox and what time The Gentle Touch started.
Times change, situations change, people rarely do.
