I was inspired to make greyhounds by their slim elegant features, wide range of colours and detail of their coats.
I always start by drawing from photographs, focusing on details and characteristics, then interpret them in my own style.

Full description
Slip cast in earthenware clay from a piece mould made from my original sitting greyhound sculpture.
After a bisque firing I hand paint the greyhound with underglaze colours black, white and tones of grey, applying them in layers using brushes and sponges.
The sitting greyhound is finished in a clear gloss glaze and fired to a temperature just above 1100°c.
This grey & white brindle sitting greyhound is an original hand painted design and I think makes a delightful ornamental animal figure.
