Item details

Dragons are a common symbol in church art, representing the devil. This one, interestingly, is bridled. I have had a quick look to see if the bridled dragon was some nobleman's badge, but found no reference. So, I would think that this one represents the devil chained or controlled.

I liked the body position of this animal - it made for an interesting carving.
