"wake me up when it's next year?"
perhaps the apocalypse was all just a bad dream. zombie sloth hopes so, and he's staying in his pyjamas until it's all over.
sloth is cut from pale blue irish linen, grey cotton linen, and pink & yellow floral liberty print cotton.
each piece of fabric is individually hand-cut, and then (very patiently!) layered & appliqued onto cotton calico to build up the image, before “drawing” the intricate details on freehand, using free motion embroidery.
sloth’s eyeballs are hand embroidered.
the text is embroidered freehand, font: my handwriting..
there's no computerised wizardry; each cover is made entirely on a domestic sewing machine.
it's entirely cut, stitched and handmade , with care, by me, ensuring each notebook cover is unique, well made and securely constructed.
the slipcover itself is made from heavy weight calico which has been pre-washed several times so it’s soft and should not shrink when washed.
the seams are overlocked and topstitched and the cover is stiffened with interfacing.
the calico cover is washable and re-usable, replace the A6 sketchbook when it's full. the sketchbooks are manufactured in the UK. they are quality casebound hard cover books, containing all-media cartridge paper.
my design is based on an original drawing by Little Black Heart, and is used with permission.
