Item details

Lacy sections are set against opaque garter stitch and waving stocking stitch columns. The Feshie Shawl is knitted from side to side in two halves, joined together with a three-needle cast-off after the knitting is complete.

Originally part of Black Isle Yarns Perspectives book, and knitted in their Auchen yarn, Maddie has hand picked Cambrian Wool's 4ply yarn for these exclusive kits.

The pattern includes written instructions, charts (& written equivalents), photographs, a schematic, & has been professionally tech edited.

The Feshie Shawl is inspired by the flow of Highland rivers: the meandering tributaries; the large smooth pebbles; and the small islands and inlets. These ideas translate into the shawl design through lacy sections which contrast with opaque garter stitch shapes, and winding stocking stitch columns, which continue horizontally across the whole expanse of the shawl.
