This listing is for a beautiful reproduction set of the "Gothic" chess set designed by the Georgian-Russian-American sculptor Peter Ganine and featured in no less than 3 episodes of the original Star Trek Series (The Naked Time, Journey to Babel and Day of the Dove.
The original chess set was played on that wonderful three level chess board that has achieved iconic status over the years.
The pieces are lovingly decorated to create a metallic aged effect in keeping with the character of the pieces, and which represents many hours of dedicated work.
The pieces are made from reconstructed stone and come with felt bases attached as standard.
The tallest piece (The King) is 11 cm’s tall with close to a 4 cm base and the pawns are 6cm tall with close to a 3 cm base, making this quite a substantial collection of chessmen.
All of my Chess sets are made to order and will be dispatched within 21 days.
