G'Day and welcome to my shop of jewellery delights! Due to the new EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) rules coming into force from 13 December, I will no longer be shipping to any EU country, which also includes Northern Ireland after this date. Although I ensure all the components I use in my jewellery are safe for consumers, I don't think my business can afford the EU agent that is required.
LAST POSTING DATES: UK - 14 DEC; REST OF WORLD - 1 DEC. Please note, I'm happy to post items after these dates, but delivery speeds can be reduced due to large volume of Christmas post, so Royal Mail cannot guarantee delivery before Christmas.

About this design: Registered on 8 December, 1883, this is one of only three printed textile patterns in which Morris depicted birds. The Victoria and Albert museum state that ‘He had claimed in a letter to Thomas Wardle dated 25 March, 1877 that he was studying birds to put into his next design.’
This gorgeously dark and sumptuous colour way by Moda, had special access to the museums archives to create this wonderful fabric!

Full description
Celebrate nature and roses in this striking fabric hanging heart decoration! This design called Rose, was drawn by William Morris for a textile design and is one of only three that feature birds.
I've selected a section of this rose fabric, with the wild rose at bottom centre and a bird hopping in from one side, surrounded by rose stems and leaves on a gorgeously dark ebony background. The dark background really makes the russet pink roses pop! I then attached this section of the fabric to a plywood (FSC approved) wooden heart shape, measuring 6cm wide and approximately 4mm thick), plus adding two layers of a special sealer that turns fabric into an oil cloth finish.
On the back I have painted with a metallic rose gold or bright copper pigment that sparkles as it's full of gorgeous mica!! I've then added a layer of varnish to protect the back and sides too.
The heart shape has a hole on each curve of the heart and I've threaded a matching black cord through both holes. It is adjustable as you can hang it by both halves of the cord - this has a 7.5cm drop or you can hang it from one side of the loop which has a drop of about 15cm. Of course, you can also make another knot to your desired length!
This is an ideal gift for a friend or loved one and can be displayed on an ornament hanger, on the wall or window or even the car - anywhere you would like to show your love of Morris's designs!
It will come to you packaged safe in a natural calico drawstring pouch!
