Item details
Each piece of gilding work is unique and all done by hand. There is no plastic in the gesso which is the adhesive used to bind the gold to the paper and it is this that gives it the raised effect. All of this helps to create a unique piece of illuminated art.
Gilding is a slow work and one of the photographs shows part of the process , making the gesso to raise the gold.
