I started making the blocks for this quilt as a fun challenge #rainbowscrapchallenge21 Once I'd started sorting all the fabrics I couldn't wait for the monthly colour changes so ended up finishing the year long challenge in four months!

Full description
A stunning geometric rainbow made from hundreds of strips of fabric. Warm and cool colours merge into one another to create a balanced patchwork of hues.
The quilt measures 64" wide by 80" long (162cm x 203cm). On a single bed it drapes over the sides, on a standard double bed it lays over the top. A quilt laid on top of a duvet adds weight and warmth without being bulky. This quilt adds a bright splash of colour whether it's laid on a bed, across the back of a sofa or a garden bench.
All the patchwork pieces, the single piece backing and the stripy binding are 100% cotton. The inner layer is Hobbs 80% cotton, 20% polyester wadding which all ensures this quilt is breathable, warm and easy care. The three layers - patchwork, wadding and backing - are secured with a continuous spiral quilting design stitched with a variegated rainbow thread.
The backing fabric is a deep sky blue with a pattern of sprigs of leaves in lighter and darker shades of blue. The binding is a rainbow stripe on a dark background which frames the quilt.
This quilt can be machine washed on a gentle cycle.
Designed and made in my smoke-free, pet-free home. I have stitched a hand written label to a corner of the quilt back giving it's name, 'After the Rain', when and where it was made and makers name.
