Full description
This gorgeous hand crafted kitless fountain pen has a kaleidoscope of cockle, clam, periwinkle and whelk seashells held within the light-blue resin binder. The shells were collected from the Sands of Wright, South Ronaldsay, Orkney, and the transparent blue tint is inspired by the warm clear summer skies above our beautiful island, allowing light to travel through this unique pen and illuminate the seashells within. The pen has a slight taper to the body, and the cap has a gentle bell shape around the mouth. The triple-lead thread connecting the cap to the body allows them to be separated quickly and easily. The hand-made nib section contains a German made Bock No.5 medium nib connected to a Beaufort Inks converter to hold the ink. The tiny step up (1mm) from the section to the body makes this unique pen very easy to write with. The pen is 160mm long with the cap attached. With the cap removed for writing it is 137mm, about 18mm wide and weighs 31g. These artisan pens take 8 to 9 hours to create, and come in a hand made presentation box, making them the perfect gift for any occasion or just to add to your collection.
