One day I heard a screaming coming from outside, donning my slippers I opened the front door to hurtle after our neighbours cat who had one of Mrs Rabbit's babies in her mouth and was beating a hasting retreat. I lunged after her, willing her to drop this little baby and after what seemed like an eternity (never easy to sprint in slippers!) she did drop the youngster who managed to slip away into the hedgerow.

A few days later I looked out my front window and Mrs Rabbit was sat up close, staring in at me. I held her gaze, telling her how beautiful she was and asked if I might take a photo of her. She agreed and as I took the photo I heard her share "thank you for saving my son." We spent many minutes together softly looking at each other and then, she was gone....
