One sub-zero January day, my husband Chris and I were staying in a wonderful secluded cottage outside Edinburgh. We very much wanted to explore the area, but the freezing temperatures rather limited our options; trawling through the cottage’s leaflets, we discovered that there was a butterfly house and tropical garden nearby. Bliss! We were warm, cosy, and surrounded by the most wonderful cabaret of exotic butterflies … It was hard to tear ourselves away.
