I was inspired to make this quilt by the Christmas carols ‘Angels from the Realms of Glory’ and ‘It Came Upon the Midnight Clear’; there’s something entrancing about the idea of angelic beings coming down to visit us on earth.

These pretty angels, created in a folk-art style, bring a message of peace and love.
I’ve chosen a slightly softer version of the traditional green-and-red Christmas colour-scheme, picking cotton fabrics in tones of soft grey-green and peachy red, complemented with touches of silver. The chequerboard border is machine pieced; the angels are created using fabric fusing, edged and quilted with machine blanket stitch in dark green.
I’ve embellished the border with buttons in toning colours, and little pearl beads create the angels’ haloes. The whole quilt is bound in dark green.
A hidden casing at the top back will hold your own batten/hanging pole.
The quilt will be sent to you cushioned with reusable bubble-wrap, and packed into a cardboard box (recycled when possible). Hanging pole and fixings are not included.
