Full description

This hexagonal fused glass bowl was made over three seperate firings in the kiln. The first fire saw me arrange coloured transparent and opaque 1mm glass strings (in a mixture of light blues and vanilla) to create the stripe base. Once fired this base was cut into six triangles to create a hexagon shape, with glass in beautiful peacock blue added as a boarder. Embellishment glass was added on top to form the fan shapes during the second firing. All glass was cut and arranged by hand. After 15 hours the flat piece was placed on a ceramic mould and returned to the kiln for 15 hours for a third fire to slump into the bowl shape. It measures approx 20cm x 18 cm and 5cm deep.

Please note that the underside is mostly a matte finish but the upper side is a glossy glass finish. This is because the underside of fused glass takes the matte finish of the shelf it is fired on.

Price includes postage in the UK and is not a true reflection of the time it took to make! Postatge is 2nd class Royal Mail untracked. Please contact me if you wish to pay extra for tracked delivery.
