This listing is for a beautiful themed chess set based on The children's classic books, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland which is commonly shortened to Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the looking glass written by Lewis Carroll in 1865. Alice in Wonderland Chess Set has been cold cast using reconstructed stone and hand painted in an Antique age effected finish to enhance and compliment this beautiful and incredibly rare chess set design.
The tale of Alice in Wonderland and her adventure with The mad Hatter, The Cheshire Cat, The White Rabbit and The Queen of Hearts have been enjoyed by children (of all ages) since it was first written by CS Lewis back in late part of the 19th Century.
This collection of chess pieces features Alice, The Mad Hatter, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee along with many of the other Characters mentioned earlier. This truly is a remarkable celebration of what has been for most of us, an essential part of our childhood.
This unique and remarkable Chess set is a very rare Chess Set design that is (or was up until now) incredibly hard to find even on a google search for Alice in Wonderland Chess Sets.
The tallest piece (The King) is approximately 8cm tall with a base of around 2cm making this a nicely sized chess set .
Th antique metallic effect paintwork gives this collection of individually handmade pieces a wonderful and intriguing presence and is an absolute joy to look at and play with as the photographs will no doubt show.
