I love birds. It's nice to make very small simple things sometimes, and there is just room for a little swallow on each of these hearts! To keep with the simplicity I have used dark brown on a neutral background.

Full description
These dainty earrings have tiny swallows pressed into the wet clay, which have been painted in chocolate brown.
As with all my jewellery they are made and decorated entirely by hand.
After forming the drops from fine white clay, I imprint the designs. When dry, I sand the sides and back, round off the corners to ensure they are super smooth to the touch. They then have their first firing. Next I paint them using under-glazes and apply a transparent glaze before firing again to earthenware. The ceramic is glazed all over so is very smooth whilst retaining the texture of the imprinted design. The result is a pleasantly tactile item.
The ear wires are sterling silver.
This is a one-off listing, the earrings in the photographs are the actual pair you will receive.
Each drop is 14mm across the widest part (about half an inch) and about 14mm (half an inch) long, the total length including the rings is 20mm, two thirds of an inch.
All my jewellery comes in a hand-stamped box.
