I’m so excited to introduce my very first animal linocut, isn’t she cute. I say she, as I feel that this otter is definitely female. The design is based on a photo of a family of otters I took at Northumberland Zoo. They were sitting of a log watching the keeper intently and squeaking at him, as they must have known it was feeding time. Having produced a number of sketches, I added in a riverbank and framed the otter with bulrushes to given it a more natural habitat. I do hope you like it.

Full description

Riverbank Otter limted-edition print featuring a one of Britain’s favourite riverbank animals, the playful otter.

This print is 8 x 8 inches.

Printed using Hawthorn Printmakers oil based inks on acid free 140 gsm paper made from recycled paper cups.

Available in soft grey or olive green.

Sold unframed and unmounted.

This listing is for one print only.

Limited edition of 60 prints, variable edition (variable refers to a range of colours).

Each design is created using hand carved plate of lino carved with specialist tools and printed with a hand wound press. Every print is unique and completely individual due to its handmade nature. It's always so satisfying peeling back to paper to reveal to final print.

Using traditional lino, vegetable oil based inks and recycled paper is a conscious decision to make my craft more eco friendly. The print will arrive wrapped in a biodegradable wrapper with a repurposed card box board back. The cuttings from the lino block can even be composed once carved.

Best wishes, Carrie xx
