This stunning red-brown/maroon multidimensional abstract glass picture makes a dramatic statement and sends out bold colourful reflections when light is present. The rippled raised texture of the glass adds a further feature to this unique piece. The textured glass has been cut free-hand to accentuate and showcase the patterns within the stained glass.
(See Inspiration).

A hand blown hollow teal glass bead is the focal centrepiece for the picture. Surrounded by a lampwork solid teal bead, shimmering fused glass nuggets, black and gold seed pearls and a garnet makes this an eye-catching piece of artwork.

This glass pattern is totally individual, no two sheets of glass are ever the same. Waves of dark red/brown, from translucent to opaque, radiate outwards from the detailed centrepiece and peak and descend before disappearing.

The glass picture has been designed to sit at the front of the custom made deep white frame (25 x 25 cm/10 x 10 inches with aperture in mount 13.5 x 13.5 cm). This then creates a sense of incredible depth, dimension and textures to this picture and allows absolutely stunning reflections from the textured translucent coloured glass and beads onto a plain background.

My multidimensional 3D glass abstract art pictures are completely new this March 2021. They are part of an exciting new project that combines the three glass techniques that I work in - stained glass, lampwork and handblown glass beads and my new venture into fused glass.

I love working with glass! Making beads, manipulating molten glass is mesmerising and so exciting. Stained glass is so much more than just about the colour of the glass… it’s the internal patterns within the glass, the reflections they create, how they and the colours change in different lighting. Fused glass is equally fascinating seeing how they have changed before and after coming out of the kiln.

In my work I do not use a template to cut the glass shapes, I cut freehand, and particularly in this abstract work. I am looking at the patterns and textures in the glass sheets and the whole design and colour scheme is flowing from the individual pieces of glass resulting in a totally unique piece of artwork.
