A 2-colour hand-printed linocut entitled 'Wheatear'.
This little bird can be found in some of the western parts of the UK and Ireland in the summertime, and this particular one (which is a female wheatear) was spotted in the Inner Hebrides, off the West coast of Scotland. It isn't a bird I was that familiar with until recently, but I thought this one had a curious (and very focussed) look upon her face!
Brown, orange and white inks on off-white Daler-Rowney 220gsm acid-free paper. From an edition of 100, signed and numbered. The orange and white inks were used together on one linoplate to create a fade from orange to lighter orange.
The print image measures H14xW10cm.
The paper measures H30xW20cm.
Printed by myself in Sheffield, UK. Each one is slightly different, as is the nature with screen-prints.
All prints will be posted flat in a cellophane sleeve and protective packaging.
I love making prints of birds. They each have their own distinct personalities and characteristics. I'm constantly inspired by them, whether it be looking out of my studio window or going on a hike.
