Welcome to Janiemade and my little corner of Folksy where you can buy my crocheted creations. If you're looking for skilfully handmade gifts and home decor I hope you'll find something you love. I enjoy crocheting with natural fibres, mainly cotton, and many of my home decor items use recycled braided cotton cord or recycled cotton T shirt yarn. All items are ready to post and I only charge postage on your first item. Your order will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd class post.

I love making toys with cute features and this teddy is one of my favourites, so full of character. S/he is based on the Rag Doll Bear pattern by SheMakesCrochet. I think the stubby legs, rounded shape and floppy arms make for a very appealing design..
As well as being a suitable gift for a baby, s/he would make an ideal little friend for a child, or if bought as a mascot / shelf sitter gift, would surely bring a smile to anyone who has a soft spot for teddies!

Full description
Everyone needs at least one teddy bear in their life and this one would make a delightful child’s birthday present or gift for a new baby. S/he stands approx. 18 cm tall from top to toe and is 9cm wide, across his/her squidgy tummy.
Teddy’s body is crocheted in one piece with the arms incorporated into the main body which makes him/her very robust. The ears are crocheted onto the top of the head and his/her muzzle is securely stitched onto the face. As with all my toys, this teddy bear has been designed to be safe for babies and young children to play with and meets the requirements of the Toy (Safety) Regulations 2011, displaying the UKCA mark on its label.
S/he has been made with a100% cotton yarn which has a lovely soft texture and is filled with squishy 100% hi-loft polyester toy stuffing. His/her arms are unstuffed so are floppy and can be moved up and down, adding to his/her charm. Teddy has hand embroidered sleepy eyes and nose stitched with black cotton embroidery thread.
I recommend a gentle hand wash in warm water, dry flat and do not tumble dry.
Your teddy bear will be posted to you carefully wrapped in tissue paper, enclosed in a cardboard box. I always try to use the minimal amount of packaging that can be reused or recycled.
