Inspired by dragon scales! It has been described by a friend as "dreki bakpoki" - Icelandic for "dragon backpack". A cool name all round, I'm sure you'll agree!

Full description

This backpack was so much fun to make and is scales appliqued to create a patchwork-type pattern of multi colour dragon scales (or mermaid scales, or fish scales if you prefer!). A lovely range of colours and textures, using offcuts of vintage wool tweed, vintage curtain fabric (the orange velvet), upcycled paisley (possibly silk, from a vintage top), and reclaimed cream cotton offcuts with shimmering gold stars. Shown on an adult size mannequin.

Back is the orange cotton velvet, and interior Iined with the same. Has a Field and Fabric tag sewn on to the interior, and the backpack closes with a zip. Straps are strong beige webbing and are adjustable, with antiqued copper adjusters.
