When I applied the semi precious blue goldstone to the top of this pot, and gazed into its shimmering depths, I found a whole galaxy of sparkling golden stars and I think my subconscious mind reached for the deepest darkest blues, purples, pearls and minty greens to compliment this miniature universe, encapsulated in a tiny little gem. I was enjoying painting the design so much, that i even repeated a pattern on the underside of the lid. Many many days were spent carefully placing the million tiny dots around and around and so the “Cosmic Pot” came to be!

Full description
A generously sized lidded Trinket pot which measures approximately 16cm across and is 9cm tall. I handcrafted this item out of very robust plaster and it’s quite weighty at 85.5g. It’s the perfect pot for keeping safe all those little knickknacks and bits & bobs that often accumulate and have no particular home. Perhaps a good place to keep keys or even items of jewellery ?
It is decorated in a flamboyant pattern in deep blues, purples and minty teal with white pearl highlights. The pot features a semi-precious “blue goldstone” on the knob. I have applied a thin cork pad to the base, to protect any delicate surface that the pot may be placed upon. It has also been finished off with 2 coats of satin varnish for UV and dust protection, and this gives the pot a subtle sheen. This is a truly original one of it’s kind piece, and I have signed the base with my mark “.o”
