I am surrounded by Pheasants here at Bramble Cottage. I have a love/hate relationship with them. I think they are the most beautiful birds to look at and I love their random funny ways. On the other hand they are the nemesis of my cocker spaniel Barney and he goes crazy every time he sees one.
I wanted to get some lovely detail of the head,the vivid colour and that beady eye. I also wanted to create an idea of movement so the rest of the painting is much looser, blurred even with a few splashes and speckles thrown in.
