I'm selling off some of my collection of unusual beads to make some space in my workshop, so if you love beads, please take a look
Each of theseantique Venetian trade beads is a small work of art. The are quite chunky so would suit a man and would also appeal to women.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
Design: Necklace with rare antique trade beads, old bauxite discs and handmade brass beads from Ghana.
Beads: The larger beads are very old trade beads, made in or around Venice between 1880 and 1920 for export to Africa where they would have been used as currency. As such they must be expected to show signs of age with minor scuffs and chips but nevertheless are in good condition for their age and history . These beads are becoming increasingly rare.
They have been strung with some bauxite discs originating in West Africa which do show some signs of wear reflecting their long history. Also some new handmade Ghanaian beads made from recycled brass using the 'lost wax' method which means each is made from a one-off mould and so is quite unique.
Size: It is suitable for men or women.
I have chosen a good quality thick cotton cord rather than leather.
