I love paper and I love making things, so making handmade books is the natural progression. I enjoy trying out different book structures and Coptic is one of my favourites to make.

I also enjoy painting abstracts so it seemed a good idea to combine them, using acrylic paintings as the covers for a book.

Full description

The two covers are original acrylic abstract paintings on canvas boards. I have used these as the front and the back covers of this books. .

The book was handstitched together using a mix of French link and Coptic stitch, with white waxed linen thread. This style of binding allows the pages to open completely flat.

The inside pages are a smooth thick watercolour paper.

This book is 20cm square.
