Not far from where I live are some mud flats that can be seen by boat. I was lucky enough to watch seals playing on the banks: sliding into the water on their tummies, lazing in the sun and even swimming up to the boat to take a peek at us humans! I took lots of photographs and wanted to make some cute, chunky illustrations based on their lovely blobby bodies and sweet faces!
