Item details

It is always with excitement and a little trepidation that I undertake such an important task. Pet portraits are little caricatures of someone’s beloved furry, finned, or feathered friend. It is always moving to hear the story behind the pictures that people send me as a starting point -sometimes a new puppy, an old faithful or a great character. Such a privilege!

Full description

This pet portrait custom-made pottery ornament makes the perfect gift or memento.

Like the other smiley animals I create, you can commission me to make a special portrait of your pet! Why not immortalise your own four-legged friend? You can have me shape the perfectly unique gift for friends and family.

Each piece is one of a kind - designed to capture the essence of your pet with a hand-painted cheeky design. Drop me a line via the 'Contact the designer' button and we can arrange for you to send me photos. I can even add the name on the reverse of the piece.

The animal's shape is hand modelled, cut out from a slice of white earthenware clay, mounted on its own ceramic and wire stand, dried, fired in a potter's kiln, then dipped in glaze and painted with professional ceramic colours to fix the design in the final firing.

Each is about 8cm tall dependent on the type of creature.
