This piece of wood was found in the log which had been dumped in a hedge on a country estate in Berkshire where it had been for years. Once pulled out and dried for a while it was cut to give the enough material for a few bowls. Spalted cherry is not very common and the spalting often only goes in a little way, this piece's spalting just makes it to the inside and is very striking on the outside. The wood was still a little wet when it was made and has since dried leaving the bowl a little distorted and even more unique.

Full description
Spalted Cherry Bowl, 145mm x 63mm high with an oil finish. Lovely curving shape to this bowl going in slightly at the top with an inward sloping rim. Cherry has a nice grain but this bit is spalted adding dark streaks and patterns to the wood. It would make a lovely gift.
