I was alerted me to an area where tree felling was taking place to make way for a housing development. When I arrived all the commercial sections of timber had been removed leaving the smaller branches and offcuts sections like this where it would be difficult to use for commercial planks. In this scenario difficult = characterful = interesting and I somehow found extra strength to lift it into my vehilcle and subsequentialy memorialise a once might tree, felled to make way for identikit housing...

Full description
An original artists print of a cross section through a mighty English Oak grown in Worcestershire UK, and sadly felled to make way for a housing development. How the mighty have fallen!
Available signed and numbered out of a limited artists edition of 40 in Black. Each print is slightly different as the amount of ink, pressure and paper orientation varies a little with each as they are individually handprinted.
The overall image is particularly dramatic as the section was taken at the top of the trunk where it starts to branch out and includes some cracking which occured as this complex piece of wood started to dry out in my studio, and in fact still continues to change 8 months later.
Handprinted using sustainable and archival Japanese paper. The paper size unframed is up to 100x64cm . In the framed version (£28 extra) this is trimmed to 90x60cm paper size with the image filling up most of the frame.Supplied as either a bare print in a postal tube or in a black frame as shown (using plexiglass in place of glass for safety). This Oak woodblock can also be printed in many other colours - you may want to ask me about custom matching to a colour of your choice.
My work is handprinted to order, so it may take around a week to reach you after ordering. Take a look at my own website www.visibull.co.uk. for more info
