LET ME KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY GREETINGS TO INCLUDE.

I really enjoy the whole process of throwing and shaping bowls. The bowl was fired with a chun glaze over an iron-rich glaze and is gloss olive where thin. This bowl would make an Oriental statement on a table or shelf with or without contents and invites detailed observation. Equally it could be directly functional for cooking and serving a favourite recipe.

Full description

An oriental-style bowl with a gloss olive and chun blue glaze. The glaze was applied in layers and to make it pool to pale blue where it is thick. The black streaks were made with brush-applied iron oxide. The bowl was thrown with a UK stoneware and after biscuit firing and glazing the piece was fired to 1300C to make it impermeable and exceptionally durable. This wheel thrown bowl would be perfect for display, for cooking or for serving food. It measures approximately 7cm tall and 20cm wide and is food, oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe. The bottom is impressed with my seal, the letter P, and the identity number 9659
