Hello and welcome or better still welcome back to my little shop.
I hope you'll find that special thing here in the shop as I make everything by hand, welcoming the differences that these techniques bring.
So if its slick, shiny, bright colours you are looking for, that's really not happening here but warm, funny, happy creature lead pieces - you are in the right place. Step in and take a look around.

I bought a book in a charity shop called Birds as Builders, what an eye opener!
While all nests are pretty amazing, solid and secure while being made from such fragile parts, some are truly things of wonder. My favourites were the wren’s nests, rounded, enclosed with a tiny door and then the fact that certain wrens build many nests in an attempt to attract a mate. You can’t help but be impressed by that kind of behaviour.

Full description
This little salt pot is based on a traditional salt pig design but instead of being a pig, it's a closed bird nests. Each salt pot comes with a carved ceramic spoon with a blue glazed bowl.
They would make a great gift for a bird or nature lover, a cook or a foodie. I have called them salt pots, but they can be used for chilli flakes, seeds or anything you might scatter on your food. They look good both on the table or near the stove.
Each pot is carved in clay in a circular pattern, reminiscent of the swirl of a woven nest, and I use oxide to accentuate the pattern. Inside and around the opening I have added a lovely pool of blue glaze. Each pot has its own spoon decorated with oxides and glaze in the same manner.
The salt nest measures between 4.5cm - 6cm high and roughly 4 cm across.
Made by hand in my garden studio in Sheffield.
I am keen to be as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible, and I try to recycle and reuse packaging but not at the expense of safe travel.
