Shop Announcement:

Hello and welcome to my Folksy shop! While we're enduring the pandemic, most of my items will be posted using the Roya; Mail's 'Signed for' first class service.

I've been making for others since 2013 and am in the process of opening up my shop here. If you'd like to see what my customers have said about my work, you can read more than 1,000 reviews on my web site: (click 'Reviews' on the bar at the top of the page).

In addition to the UK, I'm happy to ship most items to Europe, the US, Canada, Japan and Australia - just message me for a shipping quotation.

Many of the pieces I make are made to order and the shipping time is a 'worse case scenario' estimate - I will often make and send items quicker than indicated, although things do sometimes slow down at busy times. If you want something urgently, just message me and I'll confirm if I can meet your deadline.

I'm more active on Instagram than anywhere else: but you can always find me online elsewhere: my blog is here:, my facebook page here: and my Pinterest addiction is evidenced here:

You can subscribe to my newsletter to hear about new designs and offers and to be notified when my shop is fully stocked!

Set of 3 metal and enamel bird stitch markers or progress keepers

Set of 3 metal and enamel bird stitch markers or progress keepers

Love this

I'm always on the lookout for cute, fun enamel charms to make into stitch markers / progress keepers, and as a keen twitcher, I'm always attracted to birds. I'm not entirely sure what type of these flying beauties are intended to be, but they look like maybe they're budgies or parakeets - they certainly reming my of those 60s style wall murals when you arrange them in a diagonal line!

The charms themselves are 18mm by 19mm and are lightweight, despite being made of metal. They come in the set of 3 different colours that you see here and each one will have a split ring and a lobster clasp attached so that you can use them as stitch markers or progress keepers. One thing I've found since I started collecting stitch markers is that I like to be able to use them as both things and that I sometimes want to slip them onto larger needles, so I've used a slightly larger than usual split ring that you can slip onto a needle as large as 6mm easily. Because it's a split ring, you can easily remove the lobster clasp and put it back on whenever you like, if you like. The lobster clasp easily slips onto a 4mm needle too - I think of it as Transformers for knitting!

I'm relatively new to using 'fancy' stitch markers or progress keepers in my knitting and crochet, but I've soon caught onto the trend now that I've discovered all the cute enamel charms available!
