Hello! Yes, that is me pictured - needs must in a national lockdown and a dark and shady house and garden! This design was inspired by British nature at dawn and dusk, and features two of our most beloved native animals: the owl and the hare. These motifs were drawn, drawn again, then transferred and carved into lino cut motifs. More sketches and drawings later and I carved more small motifs of forest flora, and moths, to accompany my woodland friends.

Originally printed in a slightly different composition on paper through the print press, I scanned these beauties in and made them into a composition and screen positive especially for this tea towel, where they've finally come to life as a design! The beauty of screen print means they have retained a little of that intangible print 'quality' about them in texture as well as form.
