I love making interesting, one of a kind jewellery from my workshop in West Cornwall.
All my pieces are hand-crafted, using authentic metals and gemstones sourced from reputable UK suppliers and genuine sea glass finds from my hikes around the Cornish coast.
I especially like to leave the seaglass in its original unique state and shape, as nature designed it, tumbled in the Atlantic waves.

This pendant was a challenge to design and make.
I had found the sea glass on a St Ives beach and I was reminded of the local Mermaid who is to be seen swimming in the harbour in the Summer months.
Once I had soldered all the components onto the pendant I was ready to think about the chain. I decided that the design required more than just a simple silver chain so I twisted together 2 lengths of silver wire and then twisted it again with thicker wire to create a silver rope depicting the fishing boat ropes in the harbour.

Mermaid choker/necklace.
This Solid Sterling Silver pendant design depicts an Ocean scene. A mermaid dives into the depths her iridescent tail glistens in the sunlight.
I found the aqua blue sea glass on a St Ives beach. I have set it in a silver bezel onto Sterling Silver the shiny backing reflects light through the beautiful glass. I handcrafted little waves from Silver wire and made small Silver Balls and soldered these onto the piece. It is framed in a hammered circle of silver. I cut out the shape of the tail using a piercing saw and textured it in the rolling mill to give the impression of fish scales, heat treating the silver created a rainbow of colours on the metal.
The pendant hangs from a sturdy hand forged bail attached to a pretty twisted silver, rope effect torque/choker. 3 small beads connect to an extension chain for adjustable length options to suit the wearer.
The complete necklace has been polished and given a patina for a Vintage look.
The metal is protected with a coat of Renaissance wax.
