I love the art of Wiliam Blake, and I also love the art nouveau style. I think I was influenced by both when I created this image of a guardian angel, "Seraphina". She has fallen asleep whilst she is guarding her tomb, but will slowly wake up and bring light all around her.

I loved adding the silver, gold and copper to her hair and wings and because it is painted on a stark black background, it makes a really striking image.

The painting will measure 16 inches in width, x 20 in height, and is on a canvas measuring one inch in depth on a solid wood frame. Because I always paint the sides of the canvas, the painting will be ready to hang as it is, although it would look beautiful in an antique style frame, as pictured above (the frame shown is for illustrative purposes only).

I always varnish my paintings for extra protection from fading, damage etc.
