Highland Cow is an original paper cut created entirely by hand from paper.
Each colour is an individual sheet of paper that has had pieces cut away with knives to leave the design, the abstract looking pieces are then layered from lightest to darkest to bring the design to life.
The Highland cow is one of the most complex pieces that I have created with some of the pieces cut from it being just slithers measuring barely 1mm square. Each layer takes approximately half a day to cut.
The Highland Cow comes framed in a beautiful brown wood effect frame that compliments the cows colours.
The frame measures 40 cm by 32cm and is approximately 3cm deep and is suitable for wall hanging.
The cow was designed by a talented designer Andy Rothery and cut completely by hand by me.
