Thanks so much for your support, Kate
These cute little jugs were fired in a community wood fired kiln in Sheffield. The process is great fun and pure pottery magic! The celadon glaze is reduced in the firing so I can't achieve this beautiful green colour in my electric kiln. The glaze is has a slight crackled effect.
They are perfect for hot milk with your coffee, or even as a bud vase.

Unique handmade pottery thrown on a potter's wheel.
This small ceramic handless jug is made from stoneware which means it is very durable.
The jug is first thrown, the pouring lip is made and I added shell imprints each side for decoration and also to grip. It was then left until it is leather hard, then turned and I add my makers mark. Once dry it is bisque fired, glaze applied and it is fired again in a wood kiln to over 1260 oC. Where the flames catch the pot there is a rose coloured shine to the pottery. All glazes are lead free. The marks on the base are where wadding is attached to stop the pots sticking to the kiln shelf.
Height of jug about 7 cm
Diameter about 6.5 cm
Capacity about 100 ml
This listing is for 1 jug, all jugs are handmade and made in small batches, there will be some variation in colour and shape making each piece wonderfully unique.
This listing is for 1 jug.
