Artist's description:

Artwork comes framed in a solid wood, painted dark grey, frame. It is ready to hang without glass. Oil paintings stay healthiest with air flow over the canvas surface, it also allows you to see the texture of the paint without reflection. I have it listed with a bronze floral frame in my shop if you prefer something more traditional. It is also available unframed. I have the frames custom made by Picture Frames Express but assemble them myself.

I was first drawn to this post because of the wonderful angles she's creating with her body, drawing the viewer in. I've tried to keep the texture of the background quite painterly, trying to highlight the process of painting alongside the process behind a ballet performance. This is a collaborative piece with the photographer Steven Lemke and will be one of a series on the dancer Clairese Mayo.
