Inspired to continue sewing after making scrubs during lockdown I looked for patterns which are a bit different. I discovered Twig & Tale whose patterns are quirky and encourage use of recycled and reclaimed fabrics, so, where possible I use recycled natural fabrics such as linen, wool and cotton, which makes these little shoes kind to little feet, eco-friendly and mostly biodegradable at the end of their usefulness. I also incorporate my own handspun yarns where I can. Soft and roomy for growing and active toes with elastic around the heel to help keep them on. Smaller sizes are reversible for fun and variety, toddler sizes have a commercially produced cotton-based nonslip sole for safety. All the fabrics I use are checked and washed before use and are from lightly used recycled sources or remnant fabrics.
