I’ve been working with glass for over 20 years. Ever since I first picked up my chosen glass and glass cutter, I’ve been hooked. I am fascinated by the properties of glass, the array or colours and the processes that that can be used to create different effects. There is always something new to learn and new tools and materials to invest in. It really is addictive!
What I especially love about working with glass are the colours. From crystal clear to shimmery dichroic to opaque pure blocks of colour that will never fade or dull.

Full description
Fused glass dish with a handpainted bubbly turquoise sun in the centre. I've drawn inspiration from Midcentury Modern design for this decoration. Perfect as a beautiful ornament on its own, for putting your earrings in, snack and nibbles or to put a tealight candle in.
To make this dish, I handcut 2 circles of transparent art glass and hand paint a delicate sun design with specialist glass paint onto one of the circles. I then cap it with the other piece and fire it overnight in my kiln. In the heat of the kiln, the specialist paint turns into turquoise bubbles trapped between 2 layers of glass. I then fire the piece a second time to slowly slump it into a ceramic mould. Transparent glass is handcut and assembled, and the sun is handpainted therefore no 2 are exactly the same. One Supplied.

Dish looks lovely as a decorative piece, for trinkets or snacks or with a candle.
Item comes securely packaged and wrapped in my signature turquoise tissue paper, sticker and string. A gift message can be included, just contact me to let me know.
