This elegant column vase is a lovely home accent for anyone looking for a sustainable option, having been created from an empty bottle. It will compliment tall stemmed fresh or dried flowers, but looks equally eye catching standing empty.
The slender column vase is a good quality heavyweight crystal clear glass in a cylindrical shape with a chunky base. I have given the glass a white frosted finish leaving a sparkling clear design of a flight of butterflies among the long grass. The frosted finish is permanently etched into the glass and has a protective coating to resist finger marks.
Etched recycled clear glass bottle vase, handmade by me in my home studio on the Wirral peninsula, in north-west England.
DIMENSIONS: The vase is 7.5cm (3") in diameter and 19.5cm (7.75") tall.
CARE: Gentle handwash only to retain the protective surface coating. I do not advise putting this vase in the dishwasher as over time this will dull the surface.

I am never one to pass up free raw materials and bottles often come in such good quality glass that it seems a crime to just smash them up for recycling. This is one such bottle which originally contained a rather special brand of gin.
To create the vase I cut off the top of the bottle and ground the glass smooth, before sandblasting the design on and finishing the surface with a protective coating.
