Circus clowns are bright and bold and colourful. I actually picked the colours from a traditional set of juggling balls - something that often gets associated with clowns - which is why the yarn colour is structured as it is.

Full description

Clown is a bright and bold yarn that has been hand spun on Arwen, my Kromski Fantasia spinning wheel. When used, you'll use all of one colour before moving on to the next to create four bold stripes in the order of red, green, yellow and blue.. The colour changes are sudden and there is only a small amount of overlap between the colours.

It is made from 100% Polwarth Wool. Polwarth Wool is soft and fine - like merino - which makes it very easy to work with and wear.

The wool was dyed into the four colours using acid dyes and citric acid. Once dyed, the colours were carded to even out any inconsistencies in the dye process and then spun.

100g, approx. 14 WPI, DK 2 ply, 220m

Every effort has been made to ensure that the photos show the true colours of the yarn but please bear in mind that every screen is different.

Yarn can be shipped as a ready-to-knit ball, please include a comment with your order if you would like this, otherwise it will be sent as pictured.
