As you might guess from the name, the inspiration for this yarn came from the bright colours of a circus show. I wanted to capture the colour and fun of the Big Top and all the acts that happen there. This was the colourway that really set this collection of yarns going!

Full description
Circus is a bright and colourful yarn that has been hand spun on Arwen, my Kromski Fantasia spinning wheel. It is a semi-striping yarn - at points you will get the same colour in both plies and at other points the colours will barber pole around each other to create interesting effects. The colours will roughly follow the order red, yellow, purple, blue, blue, purple, yellow, red with small sections of paler or white between the colours in each ply.
It is made from 85% Kent Romney Wool and 15% Rose Fibre. Kent Romney is a soft English Wool, not as soft as merino but still nice to wear. Rose Fibre is a modern fibre manufactured from rose bushes. It has a texture similar to bamboo and in this yarn adds some extra softness without changing the drape of the wool.
The Kent Romney was hand dyed using acid dyes and citric acid into four colours (red, yellow, purple and blue). These colours, along with the rose fibre, were then blended into a set of stripey rolags ready for spinning.
120g, approx 13 WPI, Worsted 2 ply, 155m
Every effort has been made to ensure that the photos show the true colours of the yarn but please bear in mind that every screen is different.
Yarn can be shipped as a ready-to-knit ball, please include a comment with your order if you would like this, otherwise it will be sent as pictured.
