These combs are designed to allow the user to mix and blend different fibers and colours like paint in a pallet.
if you can never find the color or mix of wool that is perfect for your spinning or felting projects then create your own.. by layering a comb with different fibers and colours and passing them from one comb to the other the fibers blend and mix like magic...
when you discover that mixing a white and a black makes the most beautiful smokey grey you will want to blend every fiber in your stash... combing is very addictive..
when you have the perfect mix on your comb you clamp it down with the clamps provided and remove the fiber either by hand or with the diz provided and make your own gorgeous top roving.

We offer two options
4mm tines: for chunky, native type fleece like Jacobs and Herdwick
3mm tines: for finer fibres like merino, alpaca and shetland
Please note that all our combs and hackles are made to order so please allow up to ten days for delivery
All our combs and hackles come with clamps and a diz

Having had a bad experience of paying a lot of money for a set of combs and finding them disappointing and quite frankly, scary to use my husband came to the rescue and made me some. I designed them, getting rid of the flaws i found in the others and he used the best materials he could as he was worried i may turn myself into a kebab having witnessed me using the others..
So why our combs?... They are made from one solid piece of wood, from the centre of the log where the grain is the tightest so no danger of the head coming away from the handle.
The clamp goes into the head of the comb so have your wool facing you, not like the ones that clamp in the handle or those clumsy stations and the biggest detail.. Our tines are made from hardend stainless steel... So no rusting or bending.
