This cabinet is a stylish unique piece that could be used in many rooms such as the lounge, hallway or as a bedside cabinet.
The simplicity of the piece and charcoal grey / black colour it has been finished in enhances the style, giving it a somewhat oriental look.
This cabinet has fold down sides which is an unusual detail. This piece has been upcycled with care and attention to detail. A wallpapered finish is given to the top, outside left and right sides and interior, with a matt paint finish to the door and face on edges. The shelf remains as original, to leave an element of originality where possible.
Both surfaces have been protected to preserve the longevity, a matt varnish to the wallpapered surface with a furniture wax applied to all painted surfaces.

Originally used as a telephone table there are 2 holes in the back panel which are not visible from the front, due to the wallpaper covering. The back and underside remain as original and not painted.
As this is an aged piece some surfaces may have slight imperfections due to this.
Like some upcycled pieces due to the finished surfaces care should be taken to preserve this detail.

I am an avid creator of upcycling pieces to save them from landfill. I loved the style of this piece and could see the potential, giving its simple straight style. I had saved a really lovely textured wallpaper, that does have an almost chinese lantern pattern, which I think suits the piece so well. I have used wallpaper for many pieces which I think adds to the overall creation!
