A fall back for me when I don't know what to make next, or when I haven't used my wheel for a while is cereal bowls (or standard bowl), using 16oz clay. I make them to a pre-set size and shape and they have a nice round rolled rim. They get used a lot at home and get broken a lot. They don't have to be used for just breakfast, they make great soup bowls or pudding bowls. They are a super shape for whisking a couple of eggs for an omelet too. Here is a set of 4 I made recently and rather than decorate them identically, I used a different glaze on each one and let the almost identical shape make them a set. The glazes are Meadow Green, Pale Blue, Topaz and Saturn! I love the way the glazed have behaved in a similar manner and also contribute to the idea of them being a set. My potters mark is on each base. They form a tidy stack of 4 for storage. The price is for all 4 bowls. They are not available separately in this listing.

I take time with careful packing using recyclable materials, so don't be surprised if this item doesn't arrive for about a week.

Each is hand made, thrown on a wheel, in stoneware clay.
Each is fired to 1235oC and will hold water and is heat resistant and food safe.
Each is about 7cm tall and about 12cm diameter.

I have been making these bowls for a long time. They are called standard bowls by John Leach and I have 2 in my cupboard for inspiration. My preference when I'm making things is that they always have a practical use and they are a classic shape. These fit that bill perfectly.
