Hello, my name is Alexandra and I am the printmaker and artist behind MegaLilyDesign. Thank you for visiting my Folksy shop, I hope that you find something that you like.
** My final day for posting pre Christmas is Wednesday 18th December, my Folksy shop will then be on holiday until Christmas Day**
There is no additional postage charge across my shop at checkout, prints under £50 are sent by first class Royal Mail, prints over £50 are shipped tracked 48hr with Royal Mail, prints over £100 are shipped by courier (DPD). I aim to post all orders on the next working day and always within three working days.
If you are buying a print as a gift and you would like it sent directly to the recipient, I can add a handwritten note with your message at no extra charge. Please just add a note at checkout telling me what message you would like me to write in the note.
Unfortunately I have decided to no longer ship overseas due to the complexities and costs.
Trying to capture the delicacy of the dandelion clocks in linocut was inspiration for this print. Drawn and cut straight onto the lino block the first print was a little nerve wracking! The result, I hope, captures the light and airy nature of the subject.
Linocut is a relief printmaking method where an image is transferred or drawn directly in reverse onto the lino block. The image is then carved into the surface of the lino using mainly U and V shaped gouges. Ink is then applied to the block, paper laid onto the surface and hand burnished or pressed to lift the print. "Dandelion Clocks" requires 3 layers of ink to achieve the depth of black I wanted to create for this print.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
"Dandelion Clocks" is created using the linocut printing method. Each print is created by hand so there may be tiny variations which add to the individual beauty of these original artworks. "Dandelion Clocks" is printed onto Kitakata 36gsm printmaking paper from the Awagami factory in Japan with a combination of deckled and torn edges.

This print is sold unframed. You can choose unmounted or mounted above. Photos of framed prints are for illustrative purposes only. Your print will be packaged securely and well protected inside a cardboard tube for rolled prints or in a card envelope for mounted prints. Your print will be sent by Royal Mail Tracked free of charge.
The paper is very strong but can be creased fairly easily, simple unfurling instructions are provided with rolled prints. If you are not confident to handle the print for mounting and framing then using a professional framer is recommended. Mounted prints can be placed directly in a frame.
Dandelion Clocks is a limited edition of 50 prints after which the block will deliberately marked so that no further prints can be produced.
