Hello, my name is Alexandra and I am the printmaker and artist behind MegaLilyDesign.

Thank you for visiting my Folksy shop, I hope that you find something that you like.

There is no additional postage charge across my shop at checkout, prints under £50 are sent by first class Royal Mail, prints over £50 are shipped tracked 48hr with Royal Mail, prints over £100 are shipped by courier. I aim to post all orders on the next working day and always within three working days.

If you are buying a print as a gift and you would like it sent directly to the recipient, I can add a handwritten note with your message at no extra charge. Please just add a note at checkout telling me what message you would like me to write in the note.

Unfortunately I have decided to no longer ship overseas due to the complexities and costs.

The idea of the globe as a dandelion seedhead began after my "Dandelion Clocks" print was completed. The delicacy of the dandelion clock and the ease with which it is destroyed felt quite poignant in the context of our climate emergency.

"Delicate World" was shortlisted for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

Linocut is a relief printmaking method where an image is transferred or drawn directly in reverse onto the lino block. The image is then carved into the surface of the lino using mainly U and V shaped gouges. Ink is then applied to the block, paper laid onto the surface and hand burnished or pressed to lift the print. "Delicate World" requires 3 layers of ink to achieve the depth of black I wanted.

You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.

Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.

Read the Folksy Returns Policy.

Full description

"Delicate World" is created using the linocut printing method. Each print is created by hand so there may be tiny variations which add to the individual beauty of this original artwork. "Delicate World" is printed onto Bunkoshi 70gsm printmaking paper from the Awagami factory in Japan, with combination of deckled and torn edges.

Print Size 30cm x 30cm

Paper Size 35cm x 35cm (approx)

Mount White 40cm x 40cm (if chosen)

Ink Type Caligo Safewash Oil Based Relief Ink

This print is sold unframed, you can select mounted or unmounted above. Photos of framed prints are for illustrative purposes only.

Your print will be packaged securely and well protected inside a cardboard tube if unmounted or in a card backed envelope if mounted. Your print will be sent by Royal Mail Tracked free of charge.

The paper is very strong but can be creased fairly easily, simple uncurling instructions are provided with unmounted, rolled prints, but if you are not confident to handle the print for mounting and framing then using a professional framer is recommended.

"Delicate World" is a limited edition of 50 prints after which the block will deliberately marked so that no further prints can be produced.

Sale of this print does not infer transfer of copyright and the image may not be reproduced or used for commercial purposes without permission being sought from the artist. © Alexandra Owen
